School is becoming intolerable. Now that I know I'm leaving, I can't motivate myself to do work - but I've never not tried to pass a class in my life - so I'm pretty much forcing myself to do the minimum amount of work possible to get an A.

Anyway, as for Hijinks Esue - this one came out kind of crappy. I was attempting to use the Pencil tool rather than the brush tool in photoshop, to make coloring easier. When you use the brush tool, it anti-aliases the edges, making the paintbucket tool virtually useless. The pencil tool makes solid lines, so fills work flawlessly - but the lines look crappy as hell.

I read a few new webcomics. Elsie Hooper is the first, and most awesome comic I read this week, and feature comic. Its a black and white action comic about a brother who sacrafices everything he has in order to get his sister back, who's been kidnapped by aliens. The entire comic takes place in one night.

I discovered Faith Erin Hicks by browsing through JJ Naas' deviant art. You may recall him from a few weeks ago as the artist and co-writer of Desert Rocks, Between Two Worlds and Broken Mirror. He thinks very highly of her comics, and now, so do I. ICE is an excellent comic with a very gritty, smudged look, and a story to match. She also finished Demonology 101 awhile ago. While I like the comic, its a bit more rough around the edges, with a few lines of cheesy dialogue and inconsistent art (especially near the beginning). One specific scene in Book 5, however, is worth any amount of minor qualms.
